Intelsat 15 [OSC]
Orbital Sciences Corporation announced in May 2007 that it has been selected by Intelsat, LLC to design, build and deliver the Intelsat 15 (IS-15) commercial communications satellite. This satellite is based on Orbital's flight-proven Star-2.4 platform.
The satellite generates 4.6 kilowatts of payload power and carries 22 active Ku-band transponders. The Intelsat 15 satellite is located in orbit at 85° East longitude following its launch in early 2009 to replace IS-709.
Five transponders are owned by JSAT and are marketed as JCSat 85.
